4th Of July!

4th Of July Outfit OOTD
Hi everyone I hope everyone has a great week and a great 4th of July! I don't usually include two looks in one post, but I was really looking forward to making 4th of July outfits. I love creating looks for the 4th of July, because they are just so patriotic. You can even swap the pieces in both looks to create new looks. You can check out last year's 4th of July look here.

Light Colors

Light Colors Outfit OOTD
As you can see most of the items on my blog are darker colors, but I have the occasional colorful item. I wanted to show you today how I would wear lighter colors. As someone who likes darker colors sometimes I have a hard time getting lighter items for my closet. I don't usually gravitate towards them. When I started my blog I wanted a place to show how my style changes over time and to help me find my style. I find this is one look that creating my blog helped me to create because before I wouldn't have thought about wearing items like these.

Lighter colors are always great for spring and summer, especially in this hot weather. Even though its a little hot I think everyone should have a jacket with them, just in case. Above I included all light colors and I feel like this look has a clean and inviting vibe to it. I added a light t-shirt, light wedges, a light clutch, light wash jeans, and a light jacket. Also I love neutrals and always try to wear them in every look. If I ever have trouble wearing something I start wearing a neutral in it and then go from there. That helps me get more comfortable wearing something.

*I wanted to ask you guys if you would like to start seeing outfit of the day post on my blog. I won't do them a lot, but I would like to post 1-2 each month. It will also be more affordable clothing then you usually see on my blog.*

The T-Shirt Dress: Business Look

T-Shirt Dress Business Outfit
You saw my everyday and night out looks with the t-shirt dress and now I am showing you how I would wear the t-shirt dress for a business look. I wanted to keep the look professional because the t-shirt dress is more casual. I went with simple more darker colors and because of that I wanted to add a pop of color. That way the outfit isn't so plain and the shoes have a jeweled heel which I thought added even more character and pop to the look. I changed out the leather jacket for a blazer, the leopard clutch for a black satchel, the lace up heels for bright heeled sandals, and added the simple bar necklace back.

The T-Shirt Dress: Night Out Look

T-Shirt Dress Night Out
You saw my everyday t-shirt dress look and now I am going to show you how I would style it for a night out. It's amazing how just changing the peices can change the whole feel of the look even though the main piece is the same. To make it a night out look I wanted to change out the peices for more edgy peices. I changed out the denim jacket for a leather jacket, sneakers for lace up heels, the cross-body bag for a clutch, and the bar necklace for a spiked necklace. Those quick and easy changes will take you from day to night.

The T-Shirt Dress: Casual Everyday Look

On my last post I mentioned how I am more of a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl. That made me think how can I start to wear them and still be comfortable. Then I remembered the t-shirt dress which is the perfect combination of the two outfits (the comfy jeans and t-shirt and the look of a dress). By meeting in the middle you get what you are comfortable with and what you want to try. I think the best and easiest way to start wearing something is to wear the basic and comfy version that it comes in and work your way to the less casual version. I did all of that with the look above. I chose a basic grey t-shirt dress, paired it with the classic denim jacket, kept it simple/comfy with sneakers (flats or sandals are great choices as well), and finished it with a basic black cross-body bag (a tote bag would also look great with it). I also added a simple bar necklace which is one of my favorite basic jewelry designs.

Because I had so much fun thinking of ways to start wearing dresses and creating a look with the t-shirt dress I am going to do another series of post with the t-shirt dress showing other ways to wear it. Hope you check out the other looks this week!

Comfort Zone

Have you ever just had that go to outfit that you always feel comfortable in and always wear. Well I definitely do and most of the time it includes a pair of jeans/shorts and a t-shirt. Everyone has that comfort zone I guess when it comes to clothes and the look above is pretty close to my go to look. My go to look is a little different, but I changed it up to become perfect for spring and summer. You will rarely see me wear a skirt or dress and that is because that isn't in my comfort zone. The simpler the look and more comfortable I will be in it.

What is your go to comfort zone outfit?

Denim on Denim

I'm a huge fan of the denim on denim trend and always try to wear it when I get the chance. I have always been a jeans kind of girl, so I love denim. The denim on denim look is great for all seasons and you can change the pieces for the weather. For those cooler days I would choose jeans, but for warmer days I always go with shorts. For this look I went with simple accessories and shoes because of all the denim. You can check out my last denim on denim post here.

Fun In The Sun: What's in My Beach Bag

On my last post I created a look that can be worn to the beach. For this post I wanted to show you what I would take to the beach and what I think everyone else should take. Make sure you have a bag that is big enough to carry everything and tote bags are the best for that. I say in my beach bag, but this can be good for the pool, beach, and lake.

What do you put in your beach bag?

In My Beach Bag (links below):
Phone and Tablet: To play with when you just want to sit in the sun. (here and here).
Magazines or Book: To read while relaxing.
Snacks: To stay full and to give you energy.

Fun In The Sun: Beach Look

So sorry for not posting like I use to. Most of you probably don't know I am in school and just finished it and that alone kept me super busy. From now on I will try to post like I use to on Monday and Thursday every week. Sorry if I seemed a little MIA for the past couple months. You can follow me on Bloglovin to get the fastest updates on post (just click the plus button to the right). For this post I wanted to show you a look that can be worn to the beach, pool, or just on a warm day. I don't even live in a state that has a beach, so I can never go to the beach. The closest thing I have is a lake or pool. This look is just a super simple black and white look with a pop of color. I am not a person with a colorful closet, but occasionally I still like to wear some color. You can also check out last years summer looks from the archive to the right for more looks and ideas.
