Thanksgiving With Style

I think my favorite part of Thanksgiving is the food. Turkey, mash potatoes, and green beans, who doesn't like comfort food the only thing missing is mac and cheese. Starting last year or the year before I have made my favorite pumpkin cookies (you can find the recipe here). Heads up if you make these cookies you may have to make extra icing because you may eat it all before the cookies are done :). But that isn't what it's all about. Thanksgiving is a time to realize all the things you are grateful for which could be family, friends, or even a roof over your head.

Back to the clothes you want to be comfy because after eating all the food you may wear a size up then what you are wearing when you get there :). You can check out last years thanksgiving outfit here which is very comfy looking with the sweater. Above are some great fall peices fur vest, riding boots, and a plaid top great worn apart and really great together.

One last thing is the bag above is from Angela & Roi which is a store that specializes in handbags (link here). But that's not the only good part the main thing is depending on which color of bag you buy they donate to a special cause. For example if you buy a pink bag they donate to a cause for breast cancer. So you're not just getting a great bag, but you are also getting the satisfaction of knowing some of the money goes to a special cause. Here is a chart below, so you can get an idea of what color bag goes to what cause.

What is your favorite part about Thanksgiving and what are you going to wear?

1. Plaid Top | Rag & Bone
2. Crossbody Bag | Angela & Roi $93
3. Fur Vest | Forever21 $38
4. Riding Boots | Sole Society $130

Nail Polish

In the past couple years I have really loved nail polish and started building my collection. It can help pull an outfit together, express how you feel that day, or even express the type of style you want to have. For example if you want to be edgy wear a darker color, if you want to be girly try a pastel color, and if you want to just be creative wear a bright color. There are so many colors out there to try, so no collection is to big. Everyone can use nail polish to express who they are. The colors I picked above are colors I think are good to have for fall/winter and I even included some basic colors that are good with any outfit and any season. Right now I am loving my new metallic nail polish and it's just so unique.

What is your favorite nail polish right now?

1. Oxblood | Deborah Lippmann $17
2. Emerald | Deborah Lippmann $17
3. Nude | Deborah Lippmann $17
4. Dark Grey | Deborah Lippmann $17
5. Ruby Red | Essie $9
6. Chrome | Essie $9
7. Light Brown | butter LONDON $15
8. Dark Purple | butter LONDON $15

Stripes & Plaid

My two favorite patterns are stripes and plaid, so this is one of my favorite outfits on my blog. I don't think a person can have to many striped and plaid items in their closets especially for fall and winter. They are so easy to mix together because they are so close to each other. Those two patterns are pretty much in the same pattern family. Because I put two different patterns in one outfit I made sure to keep everything else in the outfit very simple. So I just went with a basic black leather jacket great for fall, basic lace-up booties which are very big right now, and a black bucket bag which is also really big right now.

Patterns can be really tricky when it comes to mixing them. I try to keep the patterns basic and not so bold because it's easiest that way. Here are some tips when mixing patterns: 1. get patterns in similar color(s) (for example if one print is a shade of red try to find another print in another shade of red), 2. get one pattern in neutral colors and the other pattern can be in fun colors (above is an example of that), 3. get one pattern in a bigger size and the other  pattern in a smaller size (that will make the outfit not so busy looking), and 4. get patterns that are close in look (above is an example of that).

What are your favorite patterns and patterns to mix?

1. Leather Jacket | Topshop $85
2. Striped Top | Wood Wood $100 (other option 1)
3. Bucket Bag | Asos $44 (other option 1)
4. Plaid Skirt | Alice & Olivia $180 (other options 1,2,3,4,5)
5. Lace-Up Booties | Zara $90 (other options 1,2,3,4,5)
